Iran’s Taftian wins gold at Diamond League

TEHRAN – Hassan Taftian from Iran claimed a gold medal in the Men’s 100 Meters of the 2018 Diamond League meeting in Stockholm.

The race was won by Taftian in a season’s best 10.07 off his own Iranian national record.

Yoshihide Kiryu from Japan won the silver medal, clocking 10.15 and Canadian Gavin Smellie took the bronze with 10.17.

Furthermore, Iranian Ehsan Hadadi won the bronze medal with a throw of 67.68 meters in Men’s Discus Throw.

Jamaican Fedrick Dacres won the gold medal throwing 69.67 meters followed by Andrius Gudžius from Lithuania who threw 69.59 meters.

Stockholm Bauhaus Athletics, formerly known as DN-Galan is an annual, international athletics meeting that takes place at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm. Previously one of the five IAAF Super Grand Prix events, it is now part of the IAAF Diamond League, the world's premier one-day meeting circuit. It was first organized in 1967.
